Wednesday, June 27th@ 7:00pm- 10:00pm
Advent Coworking, 933 Louise Ave., Charlotte, NC

“Hear from our speakers about entrepreneurial f*ck ups, lessons learned, and how they are crushing it today.”

Ever think to yourself, “wow, I want to do what he/she is doing,” or “I bet working for myself would be easier than working for a company… I’d be more happier,” or “if I had (fill in the blank) I’d go out on my own,”?

As with all things in life, entrepreneurship has pros and cons to it. Come join us on June 27 as our featured speakers talk about the good, the bad, and the f*cking ugly moments of entrepreneurship. We’ll have beer from our friends at Catawba Brewing Company and food to purchase. Come laugh, cry and be inspired by our speakers!

Speakers:

Reuben BloomPrincipal and Creative Director at Basic Cable, Reuben is focused on producing authentic and creative content for clients. From video to photography and everything else in between Reuben and his team at Basic Cable are some of the most creative storytellers in Charlotte.

Torrie Savage:  Co-owner of #thesavageway an ever-evolving creative marketing firm that spceializes in unique ways of getting a message out. Revolutionizing clean graffitti (customized messaging and logos pressure washed into sidewalks), social media strategy and introducing moss art to businesses and individual buyers, there is nothing that #thesavageway can’t do. Just like her favorite movie, The Goonies, #thesavageway never says die.

Braxton WinstonA Davidson College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a two-time letterman on the football team, Braxton Winston has skyrocketed in the past few years from citizen journalist, protestor to elected official. Startups and the #MeToo Movement

Wednesday, June 20th@ 6:00pm- 8:00pm
Boileryard@ Camp North End, 1824 Statesville Ave., Charlotte, NC 28206

Join us on June 20 to talk startups and the #MeToo movement. How has the #MeToo movement affected the pitching process? How has it impacted female entrepreneurs? What’s happening in the world of startups, compared to the corporate world? And how has #MeToo brought the issue of diversity to the forefront? We’ll be digging in to all that and more in an in-depth conversation with four veterans of the Charlotte entrepreneurial community:

Lisa Ganderson, founder & CEO, The Wed Clique

Chris Elmore, co-founder and company evangelist, AvidXchange

Chris Langford, managing director, Lowes Ventures

Jessie Dennen, product founder/executive partner and muse

Our goal is to determine how we, as a collective, can improve our ecosystem and cultivate an environment to support new founders and investors. Proceeds from the event will go to theINTech Camp for Girls, a Charlotte nonprofit helping get more girls interested in STEM.

Can’t wait to see you there!

Startups and the #MeToo Movement

Packard Place Public House — Formerly #CLTStartupSocial

Public Houses are where people used to gather to grab a pint and talk about events of the day. It was how people communicate, collaborate and shared ideas because they were public and open to everyone. Over time, they shorten the name to Pubs. Join us for our Monthly Packard Place Public House – for pints, networking, and sharing what’s going on with you.

This month we will be enjoying the spring weather and uptown views from our 2nd floor balcony! Hope to see you there!
